Love this thermostat
We bought this thermostat because we moved into a two-story house and I wanted to be able to control the temperature from the upstairs bedroom. Our thermostat controller is located downstairs. This works perfectly. While I am upstairs, I can control the temperature using my smart phone and it is so easy to use. Installation was not difficult. This is a quality product, I love the look of it, it’s sleek and modern and It is well-made with a good price point, and I highly recommend it.

The Best Thermostat!
Easy to install and Ecobee customer support was wonderful with how I needed to wire it. They provided on the phone support and walked me through the entire installation even testing the system. The Essential does the same as the others basically but does not include the sensor nor air quality monitor. It was replacing a basic non programable Honeywell (cheap) that did have a c wire. The compatibility of the wiring was a little different than this one but customer support walked me through the changes. The temperature control is so easy to control from the wall or the app on your smart phone. Wifi is needed but stays connected all the time with no issues. I will purchase a 2nd one. We have had these before in another home and loved them. I misplaced my 2 sensors so not able to control certain rooms just yet but the past experience they work perfectly.

I bought this to replace a two year-old model from the other smart thermostat company that the manufacturer decided would no longer be supported. That meant the most important thing that I purchased it for, to be able to monitor and control my HVAC when I was away from my home, would be virtually useless.This new ecobee unit was less expensive than that one was, and blows it away technologically and aesthetically. It integrates better with Alexa , and is dramatically easier and more intuitive to adjust on the unit itself. The iOS app is much slicker as well. The ecobee unit displays the humidity on the face of the unit, and the app has some really nice historical reports that are easy to get to and very easy to decipher.I am an ex-Air Force avionics tech, 35 year commercially rated pilot/flight instructor, and 15 year statewide telecom supervisor retiree. It ain’t easy to impress me with tech, this unit checks all the boxes.

Great Thermostat. Program from your phone.
So far the thermostat is working well. Installation was straight forward. Love that I can control from my smart phone. The only issue is if you set the temperature to 75 it will stay at 76. Definitely better than the Nest thermostat which kept telling me there was no power.

Installed this Ecobee after replacing a faulty control board in my Carrier WeatherMaker 8000 furnace, and it works flawlessly. Setup was quick and intuitive using the app.You’ll need a **C wire** or Ecobee’s included PEK kit—easy to confirm with a quick look at your wiring. The thermostat looks great, the touchscreen is clear, and the app is simple to use.Supports **Time-of-Use (TOU)** plans, remote control, and room sensors for better comfort control. Accurate, reliable, and well worth the upgrade.**Highly recommended.**

I am so pleased with this thermostat purchase! I can adjust the temperature from the actual thermostat or from my iPhone! Even when I’m away from home.I’ve had this for about a month.It’s affordable and so convenient!! It was an easy install (by my son) and it is working VERY well. GREAT GIFT FOR ANYONE! Especially the elderly who may have physical difficulty getting up often to change the temp.

Excellent price/performance ratio
So much nicer when something just works. After fighting with a more name brand unit for three days, I gave up trying to get it to connect to its internet ‘cloud’. As a retired field engineer for major mainframe computer manufacturers, I have the skill, tools, and instruments to troubleshoot virtually any electronic device. I also have a range extender from the same maker which performs well. So I was fairly infuriated that attempts to get their thermostat working was a donkey ride through Hades. Bottom line: back it went, and in came the ecobee.What a difference. Installed perfectly out of the box, their app gui is very well written, and there are enough adjustments to occupy your winter indoor time for as long as you want. All this from what they bill as their “Essential” model.If you, like me, don’t need or want the bread maker to start playing recorded versions of your streaming videos in 4K whenever you automatically open your garage door by playing a secret MP3 while pulling into your drive, and just want a quality thermostat whose schedule and activity can be easily and reliably set, you should seriously consider this device.

It works, as does the app and WiFi.
Very nice. Looks good in a sort of retro design. Didn’t need the optional wall plate. The dreaded pairing with WiFi turned out to be easy. The instructions are very good. The app is ok. I had another brand of a WiFi thermostat that lost its connection and could not be reconnected, so I hope this is stable. My furnace has the C cable, so no drama there.
