Excellent value hydroponic system
Here is my honest review of this product, broken down to the areas that are important to me.Pros- The unit performs very well for a everything I’ve grown in it so far. I’ve grown 11 types of lettuce, Tatsoi, Arugula, as well as various herbs.- It was simple to build and is very stable.- It is inexpensive compared to what it would cost to build this myself.- The customer service has been excellent.- There are spare parts available for purchase. I actually like the round baskets they sell as opposed to the square ones. Both work perfectly, but in my system I will pull single plants out and drop them into a kratky bottle container and the round ones work better for when I do that. For most users, it won’t make any difference.Cons- The first one I got looked used and was missing parts. Customer service shot me out a replacement and that one was perfect.- Look at the size very carefully. Yes, it has 72 holes but if you plan to grow any plants to full size you will never be able to use all 72. I personally skipped a hole in my planting it works great.- That leads me to another con, no hole covers. If you aren’t planting in every hole, you will NEED to find a way to cover the empty holes so you don’t get algae in the system. I just used a square of painters tape to cover a small piece of aluminum foil. Easy bandaid-style of cover.- Artificial lights can be difficult to mount. They do sell their own type that mounts to the side-shelf on the stand but I just build my own PVC cage and mounted 4 ft LED grow lights on that.All in all, it do love this little system. I intend on buying another one and some more lights and try it with some dwarf style peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers. Hopefully that goes well!

Easy setup & price reasonable— Promising start, but missing a few essentials
Received it yesterday.I’m impressed with how easy and fast the setup was compared to the two Nutraponics Hydrotowers I’ve used in the past. Everything fit together smoothly, and the system feels sturdy once assembled. Also, the price is reasonable for the size and capacity.Whether it performs as well as the Nutraponics systems remains to be seen — only time will tell. My one concern is cleaning, especially when algae develops, it might be difficult to clean the inside since this is a tube-style design rather than an open-tower type.Cons:-It doesn’t come with a water tank, so I had to purchase one separately (with a lid). LAPOND sells a bucket, but it doesn’t include a lid, which isn’t ideal.-Covers for the seedling basket are not included. These are useful during the seeding stage to block light and prevent algae growth, so you’ll need to buy them separately.-It doesn’t come with starter nutrients, so beginners should plan to get those as well.-Grow lights are not included, so if you plan to grow indoors, you’ll need to purchase suitable LED grow lights for best results.Overall, the system looks well-made and was simple to set up. I’ll update my review later once I see how well the plants grow and how maintenance goes over time.

Excellent system especially for the money! Easy assembly.
Super pleased with this hydroponic system. I have it set up in my classroom. My students assembled it with no help from their teacher. They also tested for leaks, drilled the tub holding our water and plumbed the system. These are middle schoolers. It was easy to assemble. they had it done in less than hour with about four kids working together on it.There have been no issues with leaks. The pump is very quiet and definitely adequate for the needs of the system.I couldn’t be more pleased with the system and its affordable price.

Great system, but check your hardware
While this is a great design and is easy to get set up and growing, I was disappointed in the packaging. They sent two of the same side braces, which made it impossible to assemble. I was able to build my own wood frame and get the system into production. Now I have flowering squash, cucumbers, various lettuces, and tomatoes growing at a very impressive rate. You need to be mindful to make sure daily that the pump is still cycling on the settings you made, as I have found that if there is even a slight blip in the power the system tends to reset and turn off. The size is great for a beginner looking to try hydroponic growing and the quiet trickle of the water going over your growing plants is soothing. Works as advertised even if you have to make your own frame.

I just received LAPOND hydroponics system and I’m extremely impressed!
I’m very impressed with how quickly it went together. The design seems well thought out. I bought it in blue PVC to help with algae. The planting tubes can be removed individually. This design has greatly solved my cleaning problems. The metal frame is very sturdy after installation. It’s not as flimsy as some people said.I did add LAPOND led grow lights on either side, which has helped the seedlings in there. They’ve also reserved spots where you can clip on the plant lights.It’s a great design and I would highly recommend.

Garage in garbage out.
Was delivered April 30, put it together the next day. It is now May 8th and all my seedlings are dried out and the pump doesn’t do a thing. Absolutely a great design with craptastic products. When I spend over $100 on something I expect it to last longer than a week. Will never buy again.

I’m growing my own veggies!
I needed to be able to grow as much as possible in a fairly small area, and decided to try hydroponics! I really like this item, with the ability to put 72 plants in such a small footprint, where only 4-6 plants would have fit in the dirt. It was easy to put together and my veggies seem to be very happy growing in it.
