Wow this is big and heavy! This a substantial salt lamp and seems to be the real deal and made of salt. I love the look of the pink salt lamps. I had one before but it was much smaller and didn’t have all the color features this one does. For me LED lights are a lot brighter than the traditional small incandescent bulb that was in my last salt lamp so if you are sensitve to LED lights take note this might not be the salt lamp for you. If you like to experiment with different colors this cost lamp allows you to do that with its remote. There is a tiny learning curve with this as there are many remote control LED controlled lights. But you can figure it out with s little trial and error. Just a note for those who like the traditional on and off switch on the base of the cord of old school health food store salt lamps. The remote to turn it off is convenient without having to get up though. The battery option on this adds functionality to for those who want to use a salt lamp where an electrical plug may not be available. I took off one star because I think for that price they should have included everything one needs to buy to plug this in for electronic use. There is a plug but not the box to plug it into to go into the wall. Just keep that in mind if you don’t have a USB brick to plug it in or are giving it as a gift. I would probably buy the brick to plug into the wall for someone because I don’t like giving gifts where the recipient has to do work to find something to make a gift work for them . I think think this salt lamp and its many color options would appeal to a wide range of ages as a gift and if you are looking for a nice gift for a college student of a house warming present under fifty bucks this seems like a decent value and would fit those categories. I haven’t decided to put in my in my bedroom for low light before bed or in my living room for extra ambiance. It would work well for either function in my opinion.

I didn’t realize they were so heavy–the mail carrier must of wondered what is in the box because it was sooo heavy, I ordered 3 of them, so the bx was heavy!!!!!!
