Great Sponges!
Perfect for my Marine Biology and Oceanography Class! A variety of sponges to look at as well as many different textures to get them to understand the significance and differences between sea sponges!

Drinking sponges for Lizzie
A good variety of natural sponge pieces. I got them for my lizards that only lick dew in the wild. I was so happy when I saw them using them!

Much smaller than anticipated.
These are small. Maybe 1″ to 2″. They will work but there’s not much texture on the majority of them, maybe one or two. They come flat and dried, so you have to soak them for them to take shape. If you want bigger textures find a bundle that has less sponges and you should get better results.

Best sponges for watercolor painting
These are great! I use these for my watercolor paintings. There is a mixture of sponges with different textures. So I can do leaves on trees, fallen leaves on the ground. It’s great.

Almost Perfect for Painting
I have been wanting to do a horizon on canvas, but I didn’t have sponges that would work. So I decided that I would try these with my acrylic paints on drawing paper.The sponges worked well blending a color on top of the background colors. It also was great for mixinhg the two colors to get the shade I wanted for the background. I could have used a paintbrush and I have been, but I discovered two things.First, if you wish for a smooth background, by keeping the sponge pressed down and moving it, you get that effect. For more texture, just dab with the sponge.The sponges are all good sizes, though they don’t vary much, and it is easy to wash out the paint.However, one thing that frustrated me was that while using the sponge, small pieces came off on the painting area. (Some pieces did come off while wash, but far few than while using the sponge for painting.) It was fairly easy to remove with a brush but frustrating and worries me that they won’t last long. At a dollar a sponge, the price seems a bit high consider those issues.Overall, I do like these sponges and will be using them in future art projects.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Nice set of sponges. I distributed them to my class so we could use them to add textured leaves to watercolor paintings.

A joke, does not match what’s in the picture.
They came extra small and flat. Like someone sliced them like a deli meat for a sandwich.Very disappointed.If I am supposed to put them in water and wait to expand, we’ll that’s not in a description.

A lot of textures
They come flat as pancakes, but after soaking about an hour, they are a nice size to hold while painting. Haven’t used them yet, but it seems like I’ve got a lot of different textures to choose from when I do. So far happy with my purchase!
