Lovely little treasure
These little trays are so sweet and pretty, and harmonize with my room. The mother of pearl is the perfect surface. I can see myself using them at many future events. Good value for the money. They could even be used as wall art, in my opinion.

A Keeper!
I needed something for my enclosed porch coffee table. The tray was different and l really liked the green inlay. I am not sure what the inlay is made of, it feels like heavy card stock. Whatever, it is so pretty!I wouldn’t use it on my formal coffee table inside, but it is perfect for an enclosed patio decor.

Very pretty, but not for me.
I expected this to be more substantial than it is. And it doesn’t even feel like the designed is inlaid. In the photos you can see where there were imperfections in the green ‘mother of pearl inlay’ and there is no issue with the white material beneath it. It looks like the green pieces are just laid on top of the white material and then sealed into place with something like a polyurethane. I say polyurethane because the product description says to keep this out of sunlight which is common for a polyurethane finish. I weighed this tray and it only weighed 0.85 pounds. I would not feel comfortable putting heavy items on this tray for them to be carried around. I will say, the rattan part of the tray is quite nice. It is well woven and looks like it would be durable. Just a thought too, I am also a bit confused as if this tray is food safe. I should have read the description more closely before I purchased this. (Note, I did not take stars away for this), I read that it is suggested to put ‘blotting paper’ under food to make cleaning easier, but it doesn’t actually say it is safe to put food on. Before purchasing I quickly read that ‘the wood base with textures resin plate coating, it is environmentally friendly, and healthy’. But now thinking on it, it isn’t clearly stated that this is food safe. Some polyurethanes are food safe, but not all. After I received the tray, I saw the base is not made of wood. Further down on the product page it says there is an ‘inner resin layer with an outer layer of black lacquer’. It also says ‘The round rattan serving tray are perfect as serving tray, breakfast tray, coffee table tray, basket for serving bread, fruit, food dish, snacks, drink, tea pot, coffee, dessert and so on,’ and shows photos with food on it but still never clearly says it is food safe. I am just not sure, about this at all. I think it would be great as a purely or mostly decorative item. It is very pretty and the colors are fantastic. Because I am trying to only keep things in my home that are joyful or useful, and this is really neither of those things for me, I will be returning.
