GOODBYE DISPOSABLE PLASTIC SILVERWARE
Bought these on a whim as a stocking stuffer as my boyfriend only likes to use plastic silverware as he doesn’t like how the meal feels in his mouth/teeth. But there are many problems with sing plastic silverware: terrible for the environment, expensive over long periods of time and the break with little pressure. So, enter the journey of trying to find reusable plastic silverware. These were my first choice, I read reviews, and they seemed solid, so they were ordered and then sat in the drawer for a bit. After another incident of plastic silverware breaking off not his enchiladas, he was fed up. He tried them and we’ve been hooked ever since. I bought a second set so that they last for each dish washer cycle. we use them, wash them, etc. no issues. I recommend everyone get a package, or two! The colors are so cute too!

Worth it!
I recently had some fillings done in one of my tooth and teeth are very sensitive to metal utensils. Purchased these and they are great. Likes: color is pretty, material is sturdy and thick so it did not feel like those disposable Spoons and fork and they feel great when eating with it. Can handle heat like soups and other hot dishes when eating. Cleans very well with warm or hot water when eating oily food and the arch of the spoon helps.

The plastic question
When I received other sets of Knork silverware, it felt a lot like plastic, so I did some research. I found their description somewhat misleading. These utensils are made from 85% PLA (Polylactide) and 15% bamboo fiber. While PLA is a “bioplastic” derived from plants like sugarcane, it is heavily processed and quite different from using raw sugarcane.Bioplastics do carry some toxicity risks and break down into microplastics. However, because they are more biodegradable than traditional plastics, they may be somewhat safer for regular use. They are also more environmentally friendly in both production and disposal. That said, bioplastics still take much longer than two years to fully biodegrade unless processed in a specialized facility.My husband and I are trying to avoid traditional plastic due to concerns about microplastic consumption. However, I sometimes notice a metallic taste when using metal utensils, so I tend to prefer plastic alternatives. Currently, the “brushed” finish Knork utensils—like this particular set—are my go-to. In contrast, their “sealed” finish, found on other sets, feels much more like traditional plastic and made me wonder if I’d have heavier exposure.This set feels sturdy, though not quite as much as traditional plastic. That said, it has held up well with daily use. I hand wash it rather than using the dishwasher.

Great for lunch bags.
Perfect for school lunches. Super durable. Love the colors. No issues in the dishwasher. My teen prefers to use these when home over regular spoons for her ice cream and yogurt.

Great for kids with sensory issues
My daughter has a hard time with metal utensils due to sensory issues, I love that these are adult size for her to use instead of the plastic little kid ones or disposables.
