About this item Includes one Nest Wifi Point. Nest Wifi points are designed to expand your existing Wi-Fi network and require a Nest Wifi router (sold separately). Nest Wifi is a scalable and flexible Wi-Fi system. These Nest Wifi devices work together to blanket your whole home in fast, reliable Wi-Fi and eliminate buffering in every room – adding coverage of up to 1600 square feet per point.[1,2] 1 Wi-Fi router (required, sold separately) plugs into your internet provider’s modem to create your Wi-Fi network. Each point extends the wireless network and keeps your connection fast to devices in every room.[1] Each Nest Wifi router and point is strong enough to handle up to 100 connected devices, and fast enough to stream multiple 4K videos at a time.[3] Compatible with Google Wifi. Each Nest Wifi point is also a smart speaker with Google Assistant built in (internet connection required). You can play music, manage your Wi‑Fi network, find answers, control your connected devices, and more using your voice.[4] Intelligently works behind the scenes to make sure your Wi-Fi remains fast.[2] Walk from room to room on a video call with an uninterrupted signal. Nest Wifi automatically updates itself to get new features and help your network stay safe and sound

Great signal. Very good product.
I added the extender to the base after the fact…and I recommend that If you have an extender if you are a floor above and over 40 feet from the base. It makes a big difference. It is easy to install but not much support…but not much is needed. I had to reboot the unit a couple of times to get it to link with the base. Other than that, it was a breeze. The signal strength and speed is very good. My cell phone signal is bad in my house and this allows me to make Verizon cell phone calls over the wifi perfectly.

Google Nest Mesh has been a nightmare.
Everything by Google has been a nightmare for me (use them for my company email provider), but I figured if there’s one thing they’re good at, it’s probably wi-fi. So we gave them a shot for some months.Installed the router, and the satellite mesh point. Mesh point worked well enough (barely, signal is weak) for a few months until the mesh point decided to randomly stop working. Went to check for updates; after 3-4 hours of messing with it, we couldn’t even so much as connect to it. Deleted the network and apps completely, started from scratch; still wouldn’t connect. And god forbid you want to buy another mesh point and add it; good luck with that haha. The app is also constantly migrating, and while it’s very visually appealing, it’s unusable.I would not recommend using Google for your wifi, under any circumstances. Get it together Google, you’re a bloated corpse of your former form; you’re getting fat & comfortable.

This thing is awesome!
I have the older Google WiFi and this new one was easy to add to the existing mesh. The Google Assistant is a game changer. This is my first experience using a voice assistant, and there is a surprising amount of WiFi enabled devices that you can control with this thing. Roomba, lighting, Roku devices, etc. You can even integrate it with IFTTT so you can execute those (external) routines using Google assistant. Very Nice!

C’mon Google!
I purchased a Google router and point set for my new house because Google said that was all I needed for the size of the house. But it turned out I needed an additional point because my signal was very weak in the basement. I purchased another point and it kept loosing its connection to the router no matter where I put it in the house. I returned that point and purchhased this one from a different seller. Installing this point was very frustrating. I kept getting the message that my router was manufactured in another country so it may not blend with my network. After several attempts, I got past that problem and then couldn’t get the welcome chime that indicated full connection. All in all it took about an hour to get my network functioning. Google is supposed to be one of the big dogs in this technology but their hardware is not keeping pace.

I wanted to share some exciting news with you all. I recently added a third extender to our existing mesh network, and I must say, the process was remarkably smooth and straightforward. The results have been fantastic – now, every corner of my house enjoys the same strong network strength. This improvement has significantly enhanced our connectivity and ensures a seamless internet experience throughout the entire home.

I tried several times to add it to my google nest network but it wasnt added, stops at the last part if the setup with error message “something went Wong”.After very long troubleshooting & search , I found out that if you buy the point from a different region than your original nest it wont work .. tried to return but was too late (exceeded the return window) and Im placing it now as a decoration piece on my shelve 👌
