Go green with these sturdy utensils.
We are remodeling our kitchen and lost our sink for about three weeks and needed disposable eating utensils. I wanted something biodegradable that could hold up through a meal. BAMBOODLERS Disposable Wooden Cutlery Set to the rescue! One of the things that drew me to this brand was that you got twice as many forks as knives or spoons. What a great idea! The utensils have held up to whatever we have thrown up against them. Granted, we have not been cooking steaks, but short of that…Ok, truthfully, there are not full-length tines on the forks and everything is about 20% smaller than stainless, but really, we should be comparing them to the plastic utensils you would otherwise be using. In that regard, the size is the same and the durability far outshines plastic. We’ve never broken a bamboo utensil or broken off a tine on a fork. The texture is not as smooth as plastic. It reminds me of the small wooden spoons that used to come with cafeteria ice cream. Actually, it’s been a bit nostalgic to eat ice cream with these spoons. And the bowl of the spoon is not as deep as a plastic spoon might be. Good for chili but maybe not so good for tomato soup.All-in-all, I am happy to use these as disposable utensils. They are every buy as durable if not more so than plastic and won’t be around 100 years from now.

Improved Design | Can be Reusable
Much improved design compared to previous variants. The spoon is now deeper and you can easily eat oat in milk or soups with it, the fork has a useful curvature and the knife can actually aid in holding food in place so you can break off pieces with a fork. The previous versions I bought weren’t quite up to the job.It is advertised as disposable but actually they can be re-usable until they develop minor splinters and it is time for them to end up in my compost.I prefer the lightweight wooden cutlery compared to the metallic ones. This makes them very good as portable solution and lovely to handle in general and taking your own set when eating outside rather than participate in wasting disposable plastic cutlery on offer in many dinning places. Not only they don’t generate annoying sounds when hitting the plates, they won’t scratch or mark the plates overtime like the metallic ones. Many modern metallic models including many luxury brands are also prone to rust, an unheard of issue in the older manufactured equivalents. In this way, you waste less and send less poorly made products to the landfills.

Best Alternative to Plastic Cutlery
I bought these because I have in the past made liberal use of plastic cutlery and I was starting to feel bad about my role in murdering the environment. I have purchased reusable dishes, but in some instances disposable cutlery is still nice to have around. This is the best solution I have found. There are biodegradable plastics out there, but they need to be composted and I don’t have a capable facility near me. So for the time being this is the best potion. Of course the wooden spoons are a bit shallow, the wooden knives are about as sharp as you expect and the wooden forks are really more like sporks but they can get the job done. They also add a wood flavor to whatever you’re using (kind of like the wood spoons you used to get with your ice cream in elementary school), but again, they get the job done and I feel less guilty about my role in killing the environment.

Fork It
For a family reunion, I wanted to make sure I made a conscious decision to buy an alternative to the usual plastic cutlery. I wasn’t sure if buying these was the best idea in the world, but isn’t any idea better than letting one more plastic spoon or fork wind up in a land fill? Surprisingly, I didn’t hear a single complaint and given that the reunion was filled with old people not known for withholding their opinion when you put too much salt in the potato salad or why you haven’t managed to lose all that baby weight seeing how your oldest child just got out of college, I braced myself for at least one oldie to corner me and rake me over the coals. Nope. If anything, they were intrigued that wooden disposable utensils could exist. The knives cut chicken breasts without breakage or any accidental stabbings and there weren’t any broken tines or spoon mishaps. The best part? I put them all in the mulch pile when we were done.

Can’t wait for the holidays !
I’m going all brown paper and wood and tying things off with jute string for Thanksgiving this year. Thought about it as I was setting up my over the top XXX-fancy paper plates with gold trimmed plastic accessories this last year, next year I’m thinking of going all rose gold with the trim, but I’m having so much fun with this years planning. P.S. if you are doing the decorating for a holiday table and are not encumbered by any dietary restrictions for any reason, go and look up Bacon Beer & Brussels Sprouts as your easy side for the holiday pot luck meal. it’s easy enough, and really tastes great. Brown paper and string is my theme this year. and I love all the Bamboodler’s products they are perfect ! How did they make green so cool. this year will be beautiful thanks to these products.

Best ever!
I ordered these because I was tired of not having utensils for lunch at work. I came upon these on amazon and fell in love! They are sturdy, cheap, and best of all better for the environment than their plastic counterparts.I posted comparison pics of the regular plastic untencils one would use for work or picnics. I use these regularly at work, Beach, bbq etc. I have not had one of these break on me. I. The other hand the plastic knives break regularly under pressure. Since these are wooden you done have to work about them melting in the heat. I live in Miami so if you leave plastic utensils in the car for example they will melt.I definetly recommend these for so many vocations not just for work lunches. They can be used for events, pries, bbq, beach, and even for children.

Smells so strong
I liked the shape and style and the earth-friendly product. However, they smelled so strong, like a hay barn. Although they worked for our party, I recommend opening these a day or two in advance to air them out. They are thick and sturdy.

Not a big fan of wooden cutlery but they do the job well . Knife cuts , fork stabs and the spoon spoons

Great items. Easy to use. Only for light use. You wouldn’t want to be cutting steak!! But could be washed and reused. If not, easy to recycle. Would recommend.
