I was genuinely surprised how quickly this bonsai kit started showing results! It’s been only 7 days since I planted the seeds, and you can already see the little sprouts popping out (see my photos!). 🌿The kit includes everything you need to start: seeds for 5 bonsai varieties, biodegradable pots, soil pellets, tools, wooden box, and markers. Excellent but no Wisteria 🙁
Really nice. Giving as a gift and contemplated purchasing another for myself until I discovered that no wisteria seeds were included in the kit I’d purchased. That is the one I was most excited about.That being said, everything else seems to be great. Clean packaging, excellent instruction manual and a lovely concept fulfilled by quality materials.

I didn’t have luck getting these to sprout even in my atmosphere controlled greenhouse. However, others who have ordered it who I know have had tremendous results for a low cost.For them, it was easy, sprouted well and was incredibly high quality.While I had issues, customer service reached back out within ten minutes to offer a solution, and I couldnt speak more highly of them. If you’re considering Bonsai’s give them a try. You won’t regret it.

This kit is amazing! Everything came well-packed and beautifully presented. The instructions are clear, the tools are good quality, and I love that there are 5 different seed varieties to try. It’s definitely a real kit, to grow real seeds, with real instructions how to grow real bonzai trees. Includes seeds. Can’t help but wonder how long this will take. but that’s beside the point.

I absolutely love this kit! It has everything you need to plant your bonsai trees. The little tools are so cute but very helpful in the process especially to break up the soil discs included. The planting bags are amazing. They have a drainage hole at the bottom to avoid root rot.Please make sure you read the booklet included because it really does go over everything which was appreciated.I had sprouting within a few days. Three of the seeds did not germinate but it’s possible it’s due to the weather changing and temps dropping in my area. I will try again in the spring which the extra seeds they send you in the kit. I planted them about two months ago and the seeds that sprouted have continued to grow. It is a challenge however, with the temps as I mentioned.My daughter and I had fun planting the bonsai trees. I noticed they have other kits too and I can’t wait to try them.Not only was this a great mother-daughter activity, it encouraged discussing the plant cycle for my homeschooled child. This would make a great gift also for the plant/nature lover.The price point is great. They include everything you need except water and sun. It’s perfect!

Ce kit de départ pour la culture de bonsaï est super. Autant le livret (en anglais) où toutes les étapes sont très complètes et bien expliquées, que la qualité des outils et des graines fournis. Une sorte de graine n’a pas germée donc j’ai contacté la compagnie et tout de suite il m’ont offert soit de m’envoyer de nouvelles graines ou de me rembourser le kit, j’ai choisi les graines. Ils m’ont envoyé toutes les sortes de graines compris dans le kit donc je vais pouvoir faire germer des bonsaïs pour longtemps!Si j’avais pu, j’aurais donné 100 étoiles!!!!

Great initiation to Bonsai, awesome value for money! I did cover each planter with a plastic dome to encourage germination, and had to turn my heater up quite a bit to ensure the temperature was appropriate. If temperature, water and other factors aren’t right, no kit or seeds will germinate! So if this kit doesn’t work for you, look at controlling those factors first. Also, restrictWhat I loved:1. Everything needed to get started is included.2. The seeds packs are very generous, if not sprouting at first, one could attempt multiple times!3. The seeds included are, as far as I know, beginner-friendly. Not all seeds and trees are suitable for beginners.What I think would make it even better:1. Including soil for future attempts would be nice, or for the company to sell this solo.2. Including thorough overview of bonsai as an art and how to take care of bonsai after replanting. Having a little book or e-book would help keep the enthusiasm alive.3. I’d love it if the company sold next-step products: soil, pliers and cable, pots and trays, and all the things I might not even know I need yet. Seeing how well the kit works, I would trust them for additional products and stop looking elsewhere.All in all, it’s been a lovely and gratifying experience. I can’t wait for all of these to sprout, and would happily gift this to friends and family!

I saw this online while browsing and thought how cool would it be to grow my own bonsai trees! Have always wanted a bonsai but they are very expensive. Growing from seed seemed like a much better idea. Did not fully take into account that it takes about a decade for the plants to become “trees” as this fact is not mentioned anywhere in the owner’s manual. The kit is great although I have mixed thoughts about the seed to sprout process. I purchased separately one of those growing trays with the clear lid and must say, I have had so many seeds sprout in the tray that I feel that is the best way. The canvas open topped bags they include here for growing did not work very well. Out of all of the seeds I planted, I have had 13 sprouts. After some strange plant sickness killed a few, I am down to 9. The tools they include are very cheaply made and fall apart easily and the wooden box they come in is pretty much useless once you replant your seedlings. Initially, when i first opened the kit, they ship you 100’s of seeds. Only 3 types of seeds were actually viable, the rest had fallen apart and dried out. Not sure how long these kits sit in storage but, enough seeds sprouted that I didn’t really care about the 2 varieties that weren’t viable. To make up for this, they included a small packet of emergency seeds to be used if other seeds don’t sprout so that was nice. Overall, I find that this kit is excellent for an introduction to growing plants from seed but the process of keeping these plants alive is a little tedious and experimental. They really don’t give you enough information in the included manual.

I was very disappointed with this kit. I followed the instructions that was sent with the kit, but there was on two of the 5 unique Japanese Bonzai Tree Seeds that even sprouted. Then they only grew straight up a few inches and then fell over and died. I tried again and the same thing happened.Not happy with this one at all.
