Great company. Reliable and easy to assemble products.
I love this company. Good products which while not cheap. Are well worth every penny. I bought 3 of the larger higher containers for a veggie garden. I’m 65 and no longer get up and down like I used to. They are great. But they are very tall, if you use lg containers for gardening, remember they don’t need more than 2 feet of soil, the rest can be filled in with compost like newspapers, old bark ( not new) even packing peanuts. I haven’t used my new tomato pots yet but checked them out and expect I’ll love them. They have a reservoir for water allowing the plant to wick up what it needs. The trellis is well done. I do hope the company eventually does have a trellis refill as my experience is that trellis don’t live as long. We’ll see. These are pretty good. They are light before filling but I intend to place them, then fill. If they work well, I’ll be back for yr round herbs like rosemary

Top quality tomato grower!
After searching for some time, I finally found the perfect grower for my organic heirloom tomatoes! This product came very well packaged, was assembled in minutes, and glided out onto the patio with the easy install wheels. The base container is a heavy duty plastic with an insert for soil that drops right into place. The growing cage is adjustable and quickly converted to a choice of 3 different levels, to manage your climbing tomato vines. A unique feature I found with this grower that I didn’t see with other similar products, is the automatic watering system. This is such a convenience for those that travel and can’t always attend to the watering schedule. And the water gauge gives a quick view to levels in the reservoir and when to refill. It is also an attractive way to plant and harvest your own tomatoes, (or veggies or climbing flowers!), as it looks nice on any patio and keeps the deer, bugs, and other invaders away from the sweet and tasty toms. But even better, you can also use it indoors, as it features a water level regulator plug to keep the reservoir from draining. When used outside, just remove the plug so that rain water doesn’t accumulate.I’m looking forward to saving money and enjoying the delicious, healthy and organic tomatoes soon to come with this convenient, quality grower. I will post more photos when the tomatoes come in. Five Star product, highly recommend!

Cool Product! Cage isn’t great for tomatoes.
Super cool concept. Enjoyed the build – Main issue is that the cage system does not work well for tomatoes, or anything that pushes outward – the pieces fall apart / do not stay connected at all.Product team — consider clip in pieces, or single wrap around pieces (no connectors).

Smart system that’s also elegant and practical
UPDATE: 08/02/24;Because I have indeterminate tomatoes, they can get pretty tall, so I decided to extend the trellis. Vego Garden don’t sell the trellis by itself at the moment so I bought 2 more planters to use for herb plants that are suffering in their clay pots in our hot Zone 9 summer. I used the trellis from the new planters to double the height of my tomato planters and run the string down. I’m happy at the moment with the results. One advantage I didn’t think about initially is with a self watering pot, the fertilizer and micronutrients don’t get washed away from watering or rain. They’re stored in the holding tank below for the plant to draw from later. I may try fertilizing less that what’s recommended for a potted plant. Anyways, it is something to consider when u r feeding ur plant. Especially during the phase where the roots haven’t reached the bottom and you’re watering from above.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Took me a while to decide on this as I went back and forth between this one and the Lechuza Cottage 40 Trio, also available on Amazon. I decided to go with this because Lechuza is out of stock on both the Trio trellis and the pedestal. Their customer service wasn’t helpful either hence I went with this system as it’s complete. The reason I was apprehensive is because it only holds 1 cubic foot of soil and most growers recommend about 2 cubic feet when growing in a pot. But the engineer in me made the case that the larger soil capacity recommendation is primarily to allow for more moisture in the soil and growth. With a self watering system, moisture isn’t the issue and growth can be controlled with careful pruning to contain the size and shape. It’s important to note that many of the videos online and reviews are based on free samples. I didn’t not get my pots for free. I bought mine because I believe this design is smart and despite the smaller size, it will work if you know what u r doing.Having grown tomato in ground, it was laborious and grew bigger than I wanted. This may be the ideal solution for my needs. Watch my video as I share helpful tips.I plan to come back later with a follow up review and video to discuss yields from this system and give my final assessment. Happy gardening.

What a fantastic planter!
The Vego garden/Tomato Planter Box with Trellis – that is Self-Watering – and with wheels in sage green is super nice. This planter is extremely sturdy. It is made exceptionally well. It has a feature that allows excess water from rain to drain out of the planter so your plant doesn’t drown. (I’ve had that happen before with other planters.). It has a specific place to water your plant so it doesn’t flood any part of the plant. And it comes with its own rain/water gauge that you’re able to set for your specific plant. It has wheels so you are able to move it around so it can get more or less sun or protect it from wind or other weather conditions. The trellis is adjustable so you can have your plant climb to the height you desire. All these features add up to a super efficient and easy to use planter.Once planting season arrives in PA I’ll be adding more thoughts and a video.
