Undecided originally, pleased to have waited.
My plant arrived looking pretty before all but one leaf died overnight. I looked at the roots, and they are not white, which I understand to be the color of healthy roots. (I am just learning about keeping plants alive and healthy, so i could easily be mistaken.) I’ve waited a few weeks to see what would happen. I have a new stem emerging and my one living leaf is still alive 3 weeks later. (You can see my living leaf and my new stem in this picture.) I understand that Calatheas like to throw fits, and I am guessing that is what happened. I have a feeling the plant will make a full recovery. I will try to update my review in a few months, when spring arrives and it has had some time to regrow.UPDATE: 4 months and an unrelated gnat problem later, we have good growth. The original leaf is currently dying, which is normal, and I have 4 additional leaves and 3 more working on emerging. I’m happy with the progress my little plant is making.
