I needed to set this up for heating only. There are no instructions regarding how to set for heating vs cooling vs both. I had to call tech support. There is no way someone can figure this out otherwise. Other than that, it works great.

Edit – now this piece of junk is constantly losing wifi connection and spamming me with notifications. Just don’t buy this garbageThis thermostat really frustrated me when I received it. On the plus side for me, I already had Honeywell “dumb” thermostats installed by my builder, so for me to install it was a matter of just pulling the old one off of the Honeywell universal thermostat adapter and sticking the new one on. If you don’t have Honeywell units, you will have to wire up the provided adapter. On the strong negative side, both units just straight up refused to register after install and connecting to wifi, which meant they just absolutely didn’t work with wifi at all. The Resideo app is pretty crude and bad. I worked with support for a week and learned that you must enable “Always allow” location services to get past this problem, and now the devices are registered. I connected them to Homekit seamlessly afterwards, but my primary goal is to get them connected to Home Assistant. This is not well supported and requires some technical skill, so if that’s your goal and you are not a coder / tech savvy, maybe look for a different option.

I installed it myself and configure through the app on my phone, created an account in the app it was a breeze you should have a C wire or else you need to provide one google it.So far working fine through my home Wi-Fi everything is synching very well, I’m thinking of replacing the rest of my old thermostat in my house, I will keep updating this post for any issues later on .I used wall command to stick it to the wall. no need to drill holesI have 4 wires for my thermostat (G,Y1,C,R) , and my central air conditioner is only cooling no heating.tools needed for installation:1. Phillips screw driver2. First alert app on iPhone app store3. Take a picture for your old thermostat wiring before you start removing the wires and apply same wiring in your new Honeywell home X2S4. A wall driller or in my case I used command (Velcro) to stick it to my wall you can customize cut off the extra with a scissor if it was long or wide just put in mind not to cover any of the thermostat holes because air flows into theses for it to work.I was really waiting for a new brand of Honeywell home Wi-Fi to come out because the older ones were several years old, had bad reviews and they were expensive too compared to this.Highly recommend it

Worth the money!
Love the feature of me being able to control the device from out of town and the alerts it notifies me with ex: power outage , current temp , humidity. I say it’s worth the money
